Edison At Walden: Some DIY crafts for Christmas

With all the snow we’ve had in the last couple days it’s hard not to hibernate, it’s also hard not to get excited about Christmas! Over the last week I’ve decorated my house and the Edison sales center, feeling a little inspired along the way I created a few fun “Do It Yourself” projects to add some creative flare to your New Calgary Townhome.

Home made Christmas tags are not only fun to make but they add a personal touch to any gift. For about twelve dollars I found some tags (pkg of 10 or you could make cards), festive paper, stickers and wood cut outs at Michaels. I got all this on sale but also keep in mind the dollar store and winners carries some craft suplies too. Will help keep the costs low! Creating different designs as you see in the picture on the front side and leaving the back blank so you can write a message. This did take a few hours to make so I put on a Christmas movie and had a glass of wine, making a fun night out of it!

What better way to add Christmas to your mantle then Rudolph art! Purchasing the canvas and paint supplies from the dollar store along with deer head and red nose (foam ball) from Michaels it cost about ten dollars. Not bad for a custom piece of art! Painting the head and sticking a piece of foam to the back (this will make it pop off the canvas and give nice shadows) I attached it to the canvas with some glue. I kept it simple with just a white canvas but you could always paint or add a pattern to it!

Hope these inspire you to get festive! Have you made anything fun for Christmas? Why don’t you share the creative ideas you’ve come up with!
