Our Founder & Chairman Inducted into CHBA-Alberta Hall of Fame

Avi Amir, founder and chairman of Homes by Avi, is truly honoured by Saturday’s induction into the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Alberta Hall of Fame.

Being named to the CHBA-Alberta Hall of Fame is more than just an award. Membership means that the inductee has made significant and lasting contributions to housing in Alberta. For Avi, the success of the housing industry rests on desirable homes and communities.

“I love what I do,” says Avi. “And I recognize the importance of our association to enhance education, professionalism and quality of construction.”

Avi has been successfully building dream homes for Albertans for 34 years. Expanding from Calgary into Edmonton and Texas and winning a multitude of CHBA awards. His passion for his work is only matched by Avi’s passion for volunteerism and community.

“We build homes,” says Avi. “But more importantly, we build communities.”

In 1997, Avi initiated a school mentorship program whereby Homes by Avi works with a group of students to build an actual home. The students learn on-the-job skills and the home is then sold with the proceeds going back into the program.

In addition to the School Mentorship Program, Homes by Avi is involved in numerous community projects and has been the official builder of the Stampede Rotary Dream Home for the last 17 years
