I think it’s time for all Calgarians to let their inner child out and remember those old school ways of keeping cool in summer heat… If you haven’t heard by now, the buzz around town is all about a 1,000 foot slip-and-slide that will be hitting the streets of Calgary! What is “Slide The City”? Well, it’s a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event with live music, food, drinks, water, and the epitome of all slip-and-slides. Everyone who is over 48 inches tall are invited to slide. It’s a soapy piece of vinyl that is longer than THREE football fields and don’t worry, they got this thing padded.
Slide The City has announced Calgary in their map of cities they will be going to, but the exact location in Calgary and dates are still to be determined. You can subscribe to their newsletter to keep completely up-to-date on their event schedule, which I highly recommend, tickets will sell fast once it’s announced! Ticket prices are from $15/single slide – $25/ triple slides and $35 for unlimited access.
This past Saturday was the first Slide The City event in Salt Lake City, Utah. If you check out “Slide the City” site or Facebook page, you’ll see tons of photos and videos. Notice the huge smiles on everyone’s face! 3,000 tickets were available and each one of them sold out.
I don’t know about you, but I’m there!
