You’ve Invited to the Symons Valley Fire Station Grand Opening

As you know, the Calgary Fire Department broke ground on a brand new Fire Station located on Symons Valley Road, just north of Creekside Shopping Center in July, 2011, and we’re delighted to let you know that the station is now operational.

On behalf of Fire Chief Bruce Burrell of the Calgary Fire Department, we are pleased to invite you and the surrounding communities to join the Calgary Fire Department as we celebrate the Grand Opening of the Symons Valley Fire Station No. 40.

This brand new fire station will serve Symons Valley, Evanston, Kincora, Sage Hill, Sherwood, and several new area communities. In recent years, the area has been served by a temporary fire station in Sage Hill.

The 15,000 square foot station houses three apparatus bays and is built to a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard.

Confirmed speakers at this time include Fire Chief Bruce Burrell and Mayor Naheed Nenshi.

The event is open to the public and takes place from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 8 at the Symons Valley Fire Station No. 40, located at 12920 Symons Valley Road N.W. Food and beverages will be served.
