Canoe at Auburn Bay: BBQ season is upon us

Calgary is finally starting to warm up! That means it’s time to crank up the heat on those BBQ’s and enjoy some summer meals.

In Canoe at Auburn Bay all of our suites come with a roughed-in gas line for a BBQ, making the patio the perfect place to enjoy some outdoor cookin’.

Below is one of my favourite summer dinners and it might just tickle your tastebuds. This Rub tastes good on absolutely everything – pork, beef, chicken and even vegetables! From start to finish if you wanted to make a pork tenderloin with this rub it takes about 35 minutes including prep and cook time.

Chipotle rubbed pork tenderloin

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons Chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons of brown sugar

Preheat grill at a medium to high heat.

  • In a large Ziploc bag, combine the onion powder, garlic powder, chipotle chili powder, salt, and brown sugar. Place tenderloins in bag and shake, coating meat evenly. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Lightly oil grill grate and arrange meat on grate. Cook for 20 minutes, turning meat every 5 minutes. Remove from grill, let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.

It’s time to try some new tasty treats at Canoe at Auburn Bay. Happy BBQ season!

Until next time,

Jamie @ Canoe
