Canoe at Auburn Bay: Buyer Profile

Meet Amanda, she is the proud new owner of the One Bedroom and Den at Canoe by Avi Urban!  Amanda was kind enough to answer some fun questions for us.  Here is what she had to say about herself and why she chose to call Canoe at Auburn Bay her home.

Favorite thing about Auburn Bay or the SE?

I love Auburn Bay lake and all that the community has to offer.  I am really excited about the Seton urban district and I am going to love being so close to the shopping complex 🙂

I am 26 years old and a dental hygienist at an office in Canyon Meadows.  I am a very outdoorsy person and love taking on a new adventure.  I love to snowboard, wakeboard, wake surf… and pretty much anything else on a board!  The mountains are my home and I love escaping to them whenever I can.  I grew up in Calgary most of my life and then moved to Toronto and Vancouver Island and I always ended up coming back to Calgary.  It’s true, there is no better place than home!

Why you chose to call Canoe your home?

It just seemed like the right fit for everything I wanted.  My checklist included living in a lake community, being in the south, being next to a grocery store/shopping complex and having a good view.  Canoe had all of that to offer and more.

How you heard about us?

My boyfriend did an appearance at an Avi show home and he told me all about Avi and how amazing they are.  His brother also bought with Avi a couple of years ago and he loves his house and said they were very helpful with the entire process.  I think Avi has the best customer service I have experienced so far.

Your favorite thing about your new home?

The beautiful mountain view.  I was lucky enough to actually go up and walk around in the unit I bought.  I was so surprised to see an amazing view of the rocky mountains 🙂

Favorite sinful food?

I LOVE pizza!  I’ve had to come up with healthy versions of it so I can eat it every week still.

What is the coolest thing about you?

I love to paint and I did exterior home painting for 3 years in Calgary and Vancouver Island.  It was a tough job but fun to work outside.  People who know me would never guess that was my job.

Nicknames as a kid?

Manda Panda… but I still get called that by all my family members.

Weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

I don’t like eating a lot of different types of food but I did try frog legs once.  I didn’t like it!

Most embarrassing moment?

Probably not being able to pronounce people’s names properly.  Being a hygienist I need to call people in from the waiting room and I always butcher their names.  It’s actually quite funny but super embarrassing when they get offended.

Most triumphant moment?

Moving to Toronto and graduating from dental hygiene school.  I did a condensed program for 18 months and I worked my butt off! I had to study all day every day.  I gave up a lot to pass the program but when I graduated it was an amazing feeling.

If you could have a super power what would it be?

To be able to read minds.  I would love to know what people actually think of things.

What do you think about the name Canoe? Love it or hate it? And Why?

I love it! It reminds me of a beachy, summer time, cabin kind of name. I think it’s fun 🙂

Thanks Amanda, it was a pleasure getting to know you and thank you for answering our questionnaire.  Welcome to the Canoe family!
