Canoe at Auburn Bay: Buyer Profile

Meet Ignacio and Maria Cecilia! They are the proud new owners of the one bed + den at Canoe in Auburn Bay!  Here is what they had to say about themselves and why they chose to call Canoe home.

Favourite thing about Auburn Bay or the SE?

Ever since we moved to Calgary we have lived in the south, more specifically South East, so we were already used to the area. Our favourite things about Auburn bay are: how well located it is, the fact that it has a lake, and the look of the properties in the area. In addition, it seems like a very family friendly neighbourhood and we love that.

Bio:

Ignacio is an energetic 30 year old who loves sports, outdoor activities and horses. He plays soccer all year round (outdoor in the summer and indoor in the winter), tennis in the summer with the family, and rides horses on a weekly basis. Ignacio works in IT as a Business Analyst for an insurance company and also a part time photographer.

Maria Cecilia is an event planner and works in marketing for an event company and also part time with a wedding planner. She is a communications professional that loves making new friends and reading novels. As an event planner, she has a very colourful to-do list.

As a couple, we enjoy delicious food and good wines. Winter time is the perfect moment to get our skis and head out to the Rockies to have some fun skiing. Funny fact about us, we love chick flick movies and try not to repeat a restaurant. We love trying new places all the time. 🙂 We are in love with Calgary and enjoy just driving around the city to see the landscapes.

Why you chose to call Canoe your home?

The project offers exactly what we are looking for at the moment, it meets both of our requirements and it adapts to our lifestyle. Also, we were looking for a nice area and the outside look of the building definitely caught our attention. We can’t wait to move in next summer.

How you heard about us?

Even though we drove around the area many times we never really paid attention to Canoe until our realtor suggested we go see it, so thanks to Jenn Stephenson we ended up here.

Your favourite thing about your new home?

The fact that it is brand new and that we got to choose the colours and every single detail. We had a blast choosing!

Favourite sinful food?

Deep Dish Pizza and a good sparkling wine!

What is the coolest thing about you?

Ignacio: I guess the fact that I adapt to everything very quickly, I’m extremely easy going.

Maria Cecilia: I am super outgoing and make friends easily. My to-do list runs my world!

Nicknames as a kid?

Maria Cecilia has a nickname since she was a baby. She goes by Manchi. Ignacio didn’t really have one till he was in high school and now here in Calgary everybody calls him “Iggy”.

Weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

Lamb Belly, and it was delicious.

Most embarrassing moment?

For Ignacio, going into the ladies washroom by mistake. For Manchi, falling down the stairs in front of 100 people (Ouch).

Most triumphant moment?

If you ask Ignacio, he would absolutely say graduating from Michigan State University at a pretty big stadium and having his best friends scream his name and cheer for him.

Manchi: my most triumphant moment was walking down the aisle with my dad, to marry the love of my life.

If you could have a super power what would it be?

Ignacio would like to predict the future. It would really help! Manchi would like to fly, that way she could see her family back in Venezuela anytime she wants!

What do you think about the name Canoe? Love it or hate it? And Why?

We love the name Canoe, especially in a lake community. It reminds us of summer camping when we used take the canoe out to the lake and just paddle for a while. It’s a pretty cool name!

Thanks again for taking the time to answer our questions and for sending us some fun pictures!  It was great getting to know you and we are happy to have you join our Canoe family!
