Canoe at Auburn Bay: Fire Pit Season!

It’s hard to believe with the snow still flying that we will ever get a real spring, but with May long weekend a few weeks away fire pit season is set to begin!

To get you in the spirit, we’ve got a fun (not to mention delicious) recipe for you to try out at the Canoe at Auburn Bay fire pit:


What you’ll need:

  • 5-6 bananas
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (or live on the edge and try breaking up pieces of your favourite candy bar)
  • 1 cup mini Marshmallows
  • Aluminum foil

How to make them:

  1. Cut your aluminum foil into pieces that are about 8″ x 12″ or 12″ x 12″
  2. Unpeel your banana and slice it down the middle. (Don’t cut all the way through; you’ll just want a gap so you can put marshmallows and chocolate chips in it)
  3. Place the peeled and cut banana on the foil
  4. Stuff your banana with the desired amount of chocolate chips and marshmallows
  5. Fold the foil around the banana so nothing will fall out of the foil
  6. Place over coals OR inside wire rack and place over fire
  7. Grill at medium heat for approximately 5 minutes, checking every so often until the marshmallows and chocolate chips melted
  8. Grab yourself some napkins… it’s about t0 get messy
