These days, more and more people are opting to go green by steering away from owning a vehicle (no pun intended). Typically this means they stick to inner city living where walkability is higher, but unfortunately, so are prices.
We should stop focusing on inner city living and look at everything the ‘burbs have to offer. In most new communities you don’t even have to leave your neighbourhood to find ammenities for work, entertainment and shopping. Not to mention it’s far less expensive than living inner city. For example, in Canoe at Auburn Bay you can get a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom in the low $300’s and inner city the same type of condo ranges from $500-$600’s!
Canoe at Auburn Bay has an incredible location. It’s less than five minutes away from everything at Auburn Station and Seton. Here you’ll find grocery stores, bus station, future green line, Tim Hortons, gas station, restaurants, fast food, the South Health Campus, hotels, pubs, gyms, Auburn Bay lake, schools, and more.
Most of this stuff is a mere two minute walk away and the rest is either a five minute bike ride or drive away.
So there you have it. You can live green and live in the burbs. And nobody is stopping you from keeping a car in your underground parking stall for those weekend trips to the mountains.
