Crashing Waves and Beaches – A Sneak Peek at Canoe

With the launch of our new showhomes coming up in Canoe at Auburn Bay, we thought this would be the perfect time to have a guest appearance from our resident managing decorator, Julie.
We sat down with Julie and asked her what the thought and inspiration was behind the finished look we can’t wait unveil!

When we started thinking about the Canoe showhome, our thoughts automatically were drawn to water. After all, you can’t have a canoe without water!

When I personally think of water, my thoughts take me to a place in Canada that is dear to my heart, Tofino, British Columbia. Tofino has long stretches of blue water and beaches with hewn driftwood. This was already captured on the interior finishes of the space, but we wanted to accentuate it. So we found pictures of the coastline and added accent paints that pulled on blues and grey tones.
One of the features we added was the wood wall in the main area, a light driftwood coloured ship lap feel. It builds the texture in the space, really creating a cozy feel that is timeless. We layered with toss cushions, drapery, throws, textured ottomans and pops of blue. The furniture we kept in mind was clean, simple and contemporary allowing for extra storage and optimum use of space.

This space is comfortable, inviting and ultimately a space you can retreat back to at the end of a long day and dream of long beaches and crashing waves!

Make sure to join us June 25 from 12-4 for our launch of the new showhomes! Amazing incentives, giveaways and free food! Don’t miss the boat on this one!
Head down to 25 Auburn Meadows Avenue S.E.

Until next time!
