With remembrance day approaching, we wanted to remind you of a few things. Make sure you pick up your poppy and stop by the Field of Crosses remembrance day memorial, which is open until Nov 11, 2016.
Here’s a list of activities and events happening in the city, so everyone is able to pay respects on this special day.
Of the events happening, many are free to attend on Remembrance day, offer numerous celebrations and encourage community involvement.
Some of these events include:
- The Royal Canadian Legion in Kensington, which is holding a ceremony from 9:30a.m.-10:45a.m. with a lunch service at noon.
- Battalion Park will have a ceremony guided by a public address, speeches and a wreath laying event from 10:30a.m.-12 p.m.
- The Jubilee Auditorium will host a wreath laying ceremony orchestrated by Political, Veterans’, Civil, Military and community organizations from 9:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m.
All of the details on these and other events can be found on the Remembrance Day in Calgary website.
Enjoy the festivities.
Until next time,
Jamie @ Duke
