Pat yourself on the back because you have been doing amazingly with your new year’s resolutions, right? We thought so! You deserve to indulge a little bit, and we have the perfect treat for you.
YYC Hot Chocolate hosted their launch event last Saturday at the Calgary’s Farmer’s Market but, don’t worry, you definitely didn’t miss the boat. During the month of February local cafes, restaurants, and chocolatiers will be mixing up custom hot chocolate creations in support of Calgary Meals on Wheels. Here at Avi Urban, we love giving back to the community whenever we can, and this is a great way to do just that. And, with 32 vendors participating and a total of 36 drinks to try (including nine spirited drinks – yahoo!), you definitely won’t run short the indulgence you are looking for!
Although we can’t promise we will try all 36 drinks, we are going to try and hit up the downtown vendors closest to Duke. For a sampling of what is out there, check out the five vendors we plan to hit:
Salted Caramel Peanut Butter
Cococo/Chocolaterie Bernard Callebaut, 1313 1st Street S.E., cococochocolatiers.com
Fratello/Analog Coffee, 740 17th Ave S.W. fratellocoffee.com/analog-coffee
Kaffeeklatsch, 223 12 Ave S.W., kaffeeklatsch.ca
Jumpin Juniper Saskamallow
Boxwood Café, 340 13 Ave S.W., boxwoodcafe.ca
Rosso Coffee Roasters, 803 24 Ave S.E., rossocoffeeroasters.com
But don’t let us limit you! The full list of vendors is available at YYC Hot Chocolate. Many of the drinks are available in gluten and dairy free options, so everyone can get in on the action.
Enjoy your indulging! We can’t wait to hear what your favorites are. Make sure to tell us in the comments, that way we will know what to try next!
