The Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Calgary Region announced the finalists for the 2014 SAM Awards yesterday, with Homes by Avi receiving 14 nods, five for its single family division and nine for Avi Urban, its multi-family division.
“Last year was a great year for us,” says Alice Mateyko, president of Homes by Avi Alberta’s single family division. “I’m proud of work that we did, and to have that work recognized by the industry is such an honour.”
Now in its 28th year, the SAM Awards acknowledge innovation and craftsmanship among Calgary builders and renovators, as well as excellence in the areas of sales and marketing. This year, a total of 834 entries were submitted. The finalists were chosen by individuals who work in the residential construction industry.
According to Avi Urban president, Charron Ungar, it’s this peer recognition that makes the SAM Awards such a highlight. “There is always something special when your own industry recognizes the effort you have put forward in bringing your product to market,” says Ungar. “Ultimately our industry is founded on relationships and knowing you are judged as a good industry example by your peers makes you feel proud as a builder for the work that you do. We wish all our fellow finalists the best of luck and we look forward to a great result at this year’s SAM awards presentation.”
The winners will be announced Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at the SAM Awards Gala at the Telus Convention Centre.
