It’s been a great start to the spring season at Sawyer Silverado. In addition to seeing new homeowners every week and launching the second of three buildings, our construction team is hard at work.
Here’s what’s going on at your new condo:
We’ve started on Building One’s parkade, and the footings (the concrete foundations) are now in! That’s great news, as the parkade is a major part of the building process and often takes a bit of time.
Currently, the team is coming in with machinery and packing the ground to prepare it for underground plumbing, sewer and storm drains. These are known as the “deep services.”
After the team has finished with the plumbing and drains, they’ll start prepping the parkade floor. Sweet! That means they’ll be laying down the gravel and spreading it, with the parkade concrete scheduled for later this month. It’ll be a big undertaking for all of those parking spaces, and tons of concrete!
In addition to all of that work, they’re also working to form the concrete walls in the parkade. The formwork surrounds the perimeter and the rebar reinforcing of the walls will start next week. These walls will be poured right before they pour the floor.
It’s cool to see these new homes taking shape. Come by our sales centre to see the construction first hand and view our brand new show suite. We’re at 175 Silverado Blvd. SW.
