Homeowner: Barb (and her wonderful boyfriend Steve)
Purchased: Jasmine A (2 Bedroom + Den)
Why The Post?
I had seen Avi Urban’s communities previously and even tried to purchase in the Prospect Rise Kincora townhomes about a year ago, but I wasn’t 100% ready. So when the sales staff call me to let me know about The Post and that my floorplan was available I had to jump at the chance! This time it all worked out and I couldn’t be happier!
Who would you say wins most couple spats/fights?
Him: I do of course!
Her: That’s easy. Me, obviously! Okay fine, let’s just say we win fights equal amounts of times.
Favorite memory/experience from the past year?
Him: Our trip to Hong Kong last May. We also went to Beijing for five days during that time.
Her: A family Orlando trip we took this past December.
If you could have one super power what would you choose?
Him: The ability to fly. So I can fly anywhere I want and avoid traffic.
Her: Time Travel! So I can go back in time to revisit all my wonderful memories, and fast forward through tough/dull times.
Most embarrassing moment?
Him: When I was younger and on vacation in Japan with my family, I really needed to pee while on a tour bus. I had to pee so badly that I made the bus driver pull over on the side of the road. I did my business while the entire tour bus sat and waited, annoyed.
Her: I refer to Steve as babe. I always find it so embarrassing when I call other people babe. My brother, our friends, I even called my patient babe once in front of all his family. His wife just laughed and I turned bright red as I explained myself to them.
If you knew today was your last day on earth, how would you spend it?
Him: With Barb.
Her: With the love of my life! Okay, that answer is too cheesy…. I would spend it trying to see the ones closest to me.
Strangest food you’ve eaten and did you enjoy it?
Him: I ate a live octopus in Japan. They cut the tentacles off and served it to us. I felt the slight suctioning of the tentacles on my tongue, it felt so weird.
Her: Filipinos have a lot of strange delicacies in general. The strangest one I’ve experienced is called Balut. Balut is duck embryo that is boiled and eaten in the shell. I know it sounds horrific, they even make people eat it on Fear Factor, but it’s funny because they actually sell this as street food in the Philippines. Add salt and it’s good to go.
What movie scares you?
Him: Silent Hill, that Pyramid Head guy is crazy.
Her: Movies that just don’t frighten you but leave you feeling eerie and creeped out like Darkness or Insidious.
What was the last thing you donated?
Him: My time, to the Mustard Seed. I helped prepare for a dinner time.
Her: Blood! I donate blood every few months. “It’s in us to give!”
What music are you embarrassed that you like listening to?
Him: Anything by Carly Rae Jepsen.
Her: Embarrassed? No way… loud and proud. “You and me going fishin’ in the dark…” Country music!
If you had to move what city would you like to live in?
Him: Hong Kong. I was born in Calgary but my parents took me back shortly after and I lived there until I was 10 years old. It’s home.
Her: HONG KONG! Steve and I went to Hong Kong last May and it was absolutely amazing, I would eventually like to move there.
If you could hire out one household chore what would it be?
Him: Cooking. When I’m hungry, I just want to eat.
Her: What do you mean household chores, what are those!? Just kidding, I would opt out of cleaning the bathroom. I hate cleaning all the hair that falls off my own head.
