At Avi Urban, we always get asked “Who will my neighbours be?” We know that neighbours are important, and each development we build is a community within a community. Get to know your future neighbour at Edison in Walden – because he’s rather awesome.
What do you do?
I’m a crude oil scheduler
Why did you buy at Edison?
I really liked the appearance of the place. I find a lot of the townhouse developments out there are vanilla, and this one was just a little different. It really worked for me, and the garage especially.
What floorplan did you choose?
I went with the Saffron. It really worked for me, I’m just a single guy so there’s lots of space for my stuff. The garage will be used for toy storage, so the girlfriend will be in the driveway, bikes in the back and my car in the front.
What colour door did you choose?
I went with the teal door, because it’s strong. It tells you “there’s a strong man living there.”
What do you love about your new neighbourhood?
It’s just a different looking community. Walden has some really interesting looking architecture in it. Plus, Fish Creek Park is going to be close by, Bow River is close by, so there’s lots to do and see.
Are you outdoorsy?
I’m outdoorsy-ish. With K country and the mountains so close to Calgary, I like to get out when I can.
Who’s going to be decorating your new house and how?
I’ll likely look to consult my girlfriend for all and any decisions made with colour, pattern, and coordination!
Favorite kinds of movies?
It would likely be action. I just like to watch and be entertained.
Favorite TV shows?
I don’t really watch TV. I mostly hang out in the garage, work on the bikes, go ride them, and give every other waking minute to my girlfriend. She’s going to kill me for saying that!
Favorite cartoon character
Popeye. He’s in great shape for an old man, all of us young guys can look up to him. I eat spinach, because I’m going for the forearms too.
Who’s your favorite superhero?
The Hulk! You can’t tame him, he’s a wild man. Great muscle definition, looks good in shorts, excellent beach body, and he can basically beat anybody up.
Favorite pizza toppings?
Plain cheese, I’m not exciting in that part of my life.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I had octopus at a sushi joint once. It was just a tentacle, and I ate the whole thing. It was raw, but it was good!
What do you do in your spare time?
I ride dirt bikes, so I’m excited about my new garage. I’ll have a place for all of my toys to sleep!
What does your name mean?
I don’t know what my name means! Maybe “Suave Gentleman” or something like that.
What do you do on a Saturday night?
Maybe go out, grab a drink with friends. Or, go to bed early and wake up to go riding.
Drink of choice?
Bud Light Platinum. But I don’t buy anybody drinks anymore, now that I’ve bought a house and have a mortgage to pay!
What’s your favorite ride at Disneyland?
Splash Mountain, best ride going. It has the combination that all good rides should have, like singing bears, logs, and a photo at the end!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I’d teleport, so I could be mischievous. Then I could rob a bank and nobody would ever know
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
Bali, maybe? You know those huts on the ocean? I’d love to stay in one of those.
Do you cook/bake?
I can kind of cook. I’m not bad with risotto! I’m not a grill master, just a grill apprentice. I can do steak, beer chicken, and I can do potatoes because you just wrap them in tin foil. I went with the natural gas line on the deck option so I could get a grill.
What’s the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
I tried to the Nick Carter bowl cut with the part in the middle. Not by best look, but in grade 6, it was a shoe-in with the girls.
Favorite board game?
I like Monopoly. It’s all about capitalizing, but I’m a little aggressive when I play. Once I made someone cry.
