Despite the winter conditions, our crew is working hard in Winston at Walden, with our show homes are coming along nicely. We’re just counting the days until we can finally see them, early in the new year!
Check out all the progress we have been making:
Show home: Rough-ins are underway, which means we’re putting everything behind the walls to make your home run. This includes ductwork for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC).
Buildings 17 & 22: Cribbing is in progress, which means your basement is ready for footings to be formed and concrete to be poured. Once that’s done, the cribbers will stand their forms and the basement walls can be poured.
Building 18: The team is working on foundation and back-filling. The foundation is the base of your home and includes pouring concrete for the main floor and everything underneath. Once the footings and foundation walls are formed and concrete has had time to cure, we will use excavated dirt to fill in the hole around the foundation walls.
Building 19: With framing and shingling the roof underway, you can really see these homes taking shape. The walls, floors and roof system – the skeleton of your home – are complete and the rough-in stage is just around the corner.
Buildings 20 & 21: Second floor joists are being installed to align with the wall studs and the first storey floor joists to create a frame for the second storey of the home. This has to be done before the framing stage.
Buildings 16 & 23: We’re starting foundation, which is the base of the home and includes pouring concrete for the main floor and everything underneath.
Be sure to check back each month for more updates on how things are shaping up.
Until next month,
Amanda @ Winston
